hey peoples how we all doin
gearbox is all finally done
so i now have anew 1 in
woooooooo

that was the first auto box i have ever changed in my whole life

i wanna thank all the crew here at fordmods 4 making it all possible

only thing stopping me now is the rear gearbox coolant line
as i have now been through 8 litres of oil and its not cheap as i had 2 cut it to get it out


so please peoples any1 here

i desperately need a rear metal gearbox line

hey dude. you shouldnt have cut it! you can just easily bend them out of the way.

well if u didnt cut it up too bad then i would just try and rejoin the pipes using some rubber hose (like fuel hose) and hose clamps.

otherwise go to a wrecker and grab one (would be a pain in the a** to remove)

i had to cut it near where it goes into the gearbox so i could take the gearbox out
an no wreckers up here have any
as its my only means of transport

so im up s**t creek 4 now

you can just unbolt the pipe from the gearbox!

well maybe u should just repair it with fuel hose like i said

do not use fuel line. transmission cooler hose is what you should use.

heater hose for carrying coolent

fuel hose for carrying fuel

transmission cooler hose for trans fluid

power steering return hose for the low pressure side of your power steering system

always use the correct hose for the job at hand

Just a question...

Does fuel hose react to auto fluid or can it not handle the temp. Is that why you said not to use it?

well i am now using a fuel line hose 4 it and it is holding up beautifully

I know of a e-series that has fuel hose for the lines to and from the trans cooler - no problems since install, about 3 months ago

yes i am now using fuel line
but the hose is only about 20 cm's long
an it works beautifully
