can anyone tell me if an XH ute 97 model has smartlock im on the hunt for an ecu and i can pick one up real cheap out of an XH catch code 5DA_ any advice would be appreciated

All XH's do have smartlock.
If it's intended for an EFII Fairmont, don't bother.

XH utes run EL Ecu's and wont work or psychically fit in the EF!
EF has Electronic Distributorless Ignition System (coil pack) EA,EB,ED,EL and XG/XH's all have a distributor and coil.
