I saw this in a Autobarn catalog the other week and was wondering if its any good or a waste of money. Its called "Headlight lens restoration kit" made by Permatex its $35 (sales over) Just wondering if anyone has used it or if there is a cheaper way of cleanin ur headlights. I've read the other threads about it and don't like the idea of using sand paper.

I tried it and it come up pretty well actually but dont expect much in the kit. Its 5 peices of sand paper, some gloves and some permatex plastic restoration polish. But im pretty happy with the finish

I used cut and polish on my old ones and some really fine grain wet and dry, finished with some brasso.

Don't buy that s**t! ...Get some really fine wet and dry and use that, then get an ultra fine wet and dry to finish it off. I guarentee it will come out MINT!!! Did it on my x g/f's dads car!

Or just work cut n polish into them with a sponge if u don't want to use sand paper, comes up just as mint anyway without the scratching risk. Light will be yellow again in 6 or so months tho, lol.

Meguiars Scratch X is the s**t...it's what I used to use on my yellow headlights..just buff it in and rub off...

just follow this and you'll have headlights as good as new. +1 vote for meguiars scratch x. great stuff. also a bit mystified that you say you are not too keen about using sandpaper and yet you ask opinions on a product/package that contains sandpaper to do the cleaning!!??

Don't wont to use sand paper because i will prob f#ck it up. |
