is there anyway to check if the cat is blocked?

the car idles a bit rough and i think it should have a bit more power.

as well, the floor gets hot sometimes when i drive the car.

sounds ominous?

I have the same sort of problem. I'd love to know how to check the cat.

I always find giving the cat some type of laxative in it's milk works fine to make sure it's dosnt have a blockage,
Just make sure you leave it outside until it finished running it's course completely.
Hope this helps.

Exhaust shops can check the condition of the cat by measuring the temperature of the exhaust on both sides. They will probably do it for free as well (just in case they can sell you a new cat while your there).

yeah get the cat.. I agree.. if you then notice a difference, its safe to assume the cat was blocked, then your options are.. keep gutted cat or replace and stay legal.. never had a copper pick me on a gutted cat though.
