Is there a difference between the standard fuel pump and the XR6 one on the EF? The gregories manual states the following:

Fuel pump flow (volume): Except XR6...... 240 cc in 10 sec at 275 kPa.
XR6................ 280 cc in 10 sec at 300 kPa.

Does this mean the fuel pumps are different? and is there a differnt part number?

Fuel pumps are the same, regulators are different.

This could be the problem i am having. My engine was out of a Fairmont, so i guess it has the std fpr, and i am running an el xr6 ecu, which is why it feels like it is getting enough air, but not enough fuel. Can you still buy them(xr6 fpr's) from ford, or should i get an adjustable one while i am at it?? Was thinking my fuel pump didnt have quite enough pressure for the engine. It is a Bosch 911.

Cheers

Most aftermarket auto stores can sell you a Tickford/XR fuel pump regulator.
Pretty much any place that sells or can get Bosch gear.

I think you have to take the fuel rail off. When I did mine the head was off the vehicle and I was changing the injectors over.

Hey,

Pick up reg tomorrow, $100. Had a look this arvo, and should be able to get to it no worries, without taking rail off. Alot better since i moved the fuel line when i had engine out to fix the clutch.

Cheers
