Hi All,
I'm considering purchasing a vehicle that is...well... its a wreck for me to restore. Catch is, much like many other vehicles selected for restoration, it doesn't run, is not drivable (currently) and is also located interstate! There is also a heap of parts that come with the vehicle that are loose i.e. that are not currently bolted on the car. Apart from me driving down there with a car trailer, is there any other way for me to transport the car and parts? Has anyone else here done this before? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks all, Will

you'd have to pick it up mate, a transport/freight company wont touch it if its got parts hanging off it

is it a rolled car or accident damage????? if not does it have wheels etc etc most frieght companies do not touch them but if the car is in a reasonalble condition they should be able to do it.

he he he.
Am I that transparent? I reached the limit of my bidding on that one... ...but its not the only car that I'm looking at. A mate of mine told me (from a mate of his) that typically a forklift is used to pick a non-starting car up to put it on the truck, and so, price would reflect that. I got a quote of $1250 from one company! Will

Go hire a trailer and get it yourself. Would be cheaper, and you know the car is safe then

Hi All,
That GT was located near Adelaide (I believe). But the question still stands for where ever any decent project car may reside. Will

Naturally.
But the question still stands for any other car that might be a decent project. Been eyeing off a few other cars for a while now. Transporting a running car interstate is easy. Its the non-starters that I wasn't sure about.

Without knowing where the Pickup & Destination is, have you thought of getting the car and all it's parts stuffed in a 20foot container an sent to you either by road or by rail?
