Hi guys,
When I bought my car it had rims that were identified as being the same style as a BA XR6. Apparently I have been told that these will physically fit an EF, but the offset is all wrong. Is this true? And if so, how can I find out if they are actually BA ones, or a replica in the EF pattern? Cheers

They'll fit, but sit too far inside the guards. If they fit flush, then they're replica in EF pattern.

look at the back of the rim (where the hub would be) if its 35mm deep - its for E-series, if 6mm AU/BA

if they are BA ones they will have hub adaptors to make them sit flush..

G'day mate, can you please explain in further detail about what you mean as to where the hub would be? Also, I can full lock my steering... Cheers

these are hub adaptors.. to put AU/BA/BF rims on a pre-AU you have to bolt one of these on before you put the wheel on.. it spaces the wheel out because the offset is different from pre-AU to AU/BA/BF |

Most states clearly state hub adaptors are illegal and other states use National Code Of Practice, which say they are illegal but not clearly enough for the smart states to even work it out. If there was a ADR for hub adaptors and that had to be stamped into the adaptors including what brand/model of car they were manufactured for, I can not see a problem with them if fitted correctly but I have already seen a few with incorrect hub spigot size or none at all, and I would have no idea if the alloy they were machined from was up to the stresses to which they will undertake.

They appear to be the right offset. If they weren't, they'd be sitting in a lot more and look rediculous. If you've been driving on them and haven't heard any nasty scrapes as you are turning hard or going up driveways, then I'd say they're the pre-AU offset

I have discovered that I do indeed have spacers.
Thanks everyone for their input on this. Cheers
