Ummm - is that RW Hp or flywheel? - std XR6 should be somewhere in the area of 164Kw at the flywheel which is roughly 220Hp - so I'd expect something like the mid 190rwhp for a STD Xr6.

yeah... it should be making more for sure. It has some stuff engraved on the end that I checked with jay from RPD, apparently it is a genuine rspec3 or "stage 2" in the old model #'s, plus i had to stick a bucket load of shims in there, so its definetly a regrind!!! the car just seems to hate it... what else can I do to check the cam timing?
the timing mark on the cam sprocket is just above the top of the RHS of the head with the engine @ TDC (like it should be), have tried running it slightly advanced and slightly retarded with the adjustable gear but neither made much difference, no error codes, umm, what else... :(

nick rekons his dyno reads a little low, but i think he said from memory he had an e-series on there with extractors only (and prolly auto) make 110ish rwkw. so extractors+cam+exh+manual should make a little more ;) I think maybe this cam is just cursed, i cant work it out ....

hmmm. i have same prob, but found out the timing chain has slipped a tooth (or 2!) on AUX gear (thanks joe- cms for info on that) so base timing is way out- not on cam or crank but on what would be dizzy drive on el (mines ef so doesnt have a dizzy). whole front of motor has to come off the set up base timing again, then she should run sweeeet. 8-)

I'm glad that we tracked the problem down, once you get it sorted out you'll know what I'm talking about, again leave it a few days before dynoing it as the ECU will need to relearn

thanks

can I suggest for you to put back your stock cam & start again, make sue that it feels like it's supose to before you started, then alteast you know thats it not anything else but the last mod that your've done....then go from there..

At the BMFI dyno day my daughter was only beaten by Mat and FASTXR (in NA Class) all she had done was the same came so you do have issues as AUXR8 said start from the begining with STD cam dyno that them change you might have a problem with the set up.

OK, well i had a bit of spare time today, and swapped the old (factory) cam back in. car seems to be running about the same (definetly not drastically worse!!!), idle a little smoother, maybe a little less eager to rev past 4500 but it still pulls just OK.

the timing chain noise is completely gone too (car still has the uprated valve springs in it+vernier gear).

I will organise a run on dynowogs dyno but, i cannot see the point of putting this particular cam back in, car doesnt seem to like it, nFI why... do places occasionally make "bad" regrinds? anyone want to stick this cam in their car and see how it goes?
