Hi all!
The strut on the passenger side of my boot has come loose. The still stays open, but only about half way and on hills it closes on my head! It has also caused the rear passenger seatbelt not to work. How do I fix this? I was just going to rivet the bracket to the back of the boot....

on my eb ,i had to pull apart the back seat and pull the carpet up and remove some plastic bits ,and you can either weld it or drill and bolt it back in ,it's only tact welded on so it's weak as piss

yeah ours had spot welds and they broke so two bolts fixed the problem.

The passenger side boot strut bracket broke in my car too. You'll have to pull the seat side bolster out and its easier to fix if you remove the seatbelt roll, you'll need a torx bit for that, can't remember size!
I pop riveted mine back together with stainless 3/16 rivets. I expect the other side to break before this one does again You're seatbelt not working is most likely caused by the bracket being caught up in the seatbelt, so it should be fine once the bracket is fixed.

Fairmont is both correct in his diagnosis and remedy. I had my struts re-gassed professionally and the explaination that Fairmont gives is almost word for word what this guy told me. The fix is also word for word - what's your name Fairmont ??

G'day elusiverunner,
My name's Darin. Not in the strut business so I think our common advise is a coincidence
