hi guys,

im just wondering what the exact difference between a std barra engine and xr6 turbo/typhoon engines are, i know the phoon engines have lower compression, stronger internals, springs etc. but my plan was to buy a std engine, and put stronger internals in anyway for big HP, so the head hasnt been shaved for higher compression in std engines? and will my plan work, meaning are they the only differences...

cheers

A search would answer your questions.

Pistons, sump, rods, valve springs, exhaust valves, cams, ECU configuration are the main ones.

No reason you cant use an NA motor if you are going to rebuild it anyway.
