I have a el futura which has tickford installed gas however recently when i start the car on gas it wont start first time. The motor turns over but then apperars too not have any gas in the system and dies. Then if I try again no prblems. I do not have a problem starting it on petrol.

could be a number of things,
1) to much petrol getting shot in before gas kicks in so floods engine and stalls.

2) idle might not be set right

3) spark plugs could be dirty/leads might not be firing right

4) gas converter could have crap in it so gas wont flow, (i found that if i used any other gas rather then shell it would build up a wax residue in the converter which would casue problems when car is cold).

thats all i can think of off the top of my head, thats what i have had problems with in the past.

Do you know if this sytem starts on LPG or Petrol ?

On my straight gas cars, i find it helps to prime the system a couple of times when I know it wont wanna start (some of them dont like starting cold, some dont like starting hot, some never have any problems, some never want to start.. heh). Just turn the key to reds for a sec, then off, then on.. and give it a kick.
