has anyone put a VCT head of a AU XR6 onto a AU Standard AU forte engine? what will i need to do this? will just be the case of swapping heads and puters? will there be a wiring loom in the engine bay of the forte for the vct?

Working on it now. For your answer the wiring for the VCT will not be there but only one run to the ECU, you will need the ECU from a VCT to drive it or derive a signal from the BBM.

i will have the full wreck for the vct hopefully do you think it would be easy enough to swap the loom over?

Yes, I beleive the only difference is the engine loom, not the ECU loom. So Swap the motor (cheaper than doing the head only) or just the head and install the ECU and the loom (might as well put in the whole BBM (fuel reg and injectors ...) Keep us updated.
Edit...
Is this going into an AU? If not then No its not a straight swap. You will have to run the VCT from the BBM output of the EL ECU if thats where its going.
