My EF had an engine miss. It seemed to be random & would miss for weeks then dissapear for a wil and then come back.

Went to one mechanic and he replaced the coil pack. Seemed ok but started missing again. He drove it & said it was the gearbox. - Since it did it at idle and in neutral he was full of s**t.

So took the car to Ford on more that 4 occasions they replaced leads plugs and I cant remember what else.

This all happened over a period of about 18 months and cost me a little over $2000 (no typo) but still had miss.

So I started dissasembling engine my self and found the flange gasket in the middle of the split exhaust manifold needed replacing.

GUESS WHAT
Miss fixed for $2.70

Man am I p****d off & stupid for not doing it myself in the first place.

Tony

Bit dissapointing that so many different mechanics looked at it and missed that too.
