Just thought id post this up, looks cool. Dont know how it goes for water hitting it if mounted in the front bar. $400 though?

yeah im fair sure they dont work, it would be one long a*** pipe coming from ur front bar and it would loose air flow because of its length, somone metioned somthing along those lines before.

i recall some1 actually saying that u get more torque with a longer intake pipe...but dont hold me to it...

The shorter the path, the better id say

Longer pipes can mean more torque. Shorter is not always better. Narrower pipes can also mean more torque and wider pipes can mean more power. There is even a supposed ideal volume of air you want between the throttle body and the air filter for a given engine size.
Unless you do something really extreme it makes a bees d**k of difference. The best thing you can do for an engine is try to stop the air coming in from getting hot.

the pipe length you refer too is post filter to affect torque. It gives the air more time and distance to accelerate while under vaccuum. 2 meters of pipe before the filter wont even do anything. The prime thing to do would be to put a pod in a custom designed box just behind a custom bumper with a small s-bend intake ram (with a water-proof setup on the s-bend.) about an inch under the level of the headlight. it is where the greatest air pressure manifests between 80-140kmh according to tests that I remember reading.

Another aspect to the length of the intake runner is the wave tuning of it (taking to the extremes I know), but when we built my 6 throttle body manifold that was the deciding factor for the length. I won't get off topic now - but read into wave tuning for more information.
As for the first post - the filter looks just like any other cheap aftermarket filter and I don't see any performance gains what so ever (apart from wank factor).

Autotechnica Monza make the same thing for a lot cheaper - I posted a picture and details of it up a year or ago.
