I got 8 years out of my last Yuasa battery and would have got more if I hadn't put the car off the road. They're a little dearer but I think well worth it.

I brought a Yuasa last year for the EF and they wanted about $160 for it and I haggled and got if for $135.

I don't know how it will survive if you run it flat all the time though. Maybe a cheapie will last just as long. Not sure on that one.

Dont get the so called "maintenance free" batt. Get one you can top up. My experience with maint free is they last about 2 yrs. Living in Saudi Arabia the car see's 50 degrees for about 5 months of the year. I have just changed the batt that lasted almost 4 years. No special brand but I kept an eye on the levels and topped it up as necessary. I now have a Motorcraft 640 cca, 65 Ahr, $70 :D gotta love the exchange rate

i am going to put a century battery in mine, possibly a 68vt due to the way my wring is back to front, dont ask how, thats the biggest i can fit, century batteries cost a arm n a leg now and the price is going back up, our supplier is buying our old batteries to reuse the old lead to make new ones... ahhh the joys of working at batteryworld lol

Optima D34 or one of the high CCA output Oddysseys .. I run both an had no issues... as Stone says you should have it still under warranty ... they also have a dead cell policy as some do come off the shelf with flaky cells...

Ive had 3 and only one had a dead cell 5 weeks after I bought it and they had sent me a new battery within a month - no cost to me as it should.

Oddyssey are also a top make but are harder to chase for warranty

ive got 2 blutetop optimas, great batteries, reason i have 2 is due to letting one sit in my nissan for months, dropped to 5 volts... should have killed it, let it charge very very slowly (several days on a lab power supply at work) in the mean time bought another and to my surprise the old one is still in perfect condition, holds charge no worries... pricy but worth it i think...
