Simple question: will an EL stacker work with the EF Premium cable?

Apparently the EF uses a round DIN connection at the head unit, where the EL is a rectangular plug. Are they the same at the stacker end?

Thanks in advance, Mike :)

No, the Ef head unit uses the rectangular plug not a round plug....

The factory units use the rectangular plugs on the stacker and the head unit, the aftermarket Alpine stackers use the round plug and to make them work there is an adaptor required from rectangular to round connectors.
So it comes down to whether or not you "El" stacker is factory or Alpine...

Well, got the EL stacker today and it plugs straight into the EF no worries.

Thanks for the replies.

It's a second-handy and I bought it from the guy who created this thread!

They aren't too hard to find- lots of people sell them off when upgrading the factory audio.

You are better off with the Alpine cha-634 which is compatible vi adaptor to the factory unit and it also plays mp3's...

What's one of those worth and a good supplier?

No problems playing the mp3s via the factory HU?

I am not sure what they cost, I got mine on a good deal for $200 from a good dealer.
When using mp3's through an m-bus head unit which is what the factory unit is you won't get any id3 data and you can't browse through folders so any mp3 cd that you want to use will have to have the files in root directory of the cd.
I use an Alpine m-bus head unit with the 634 stacker and aside from the above issues it works great....
Though I haven't actually tried my factory unit a I don't have the code otherwise I would....
