I got an EA fairmont GHIA and ive changed the steering rack once i dont want to go to another EA-B-D and get a rack thats probably just as worn. will a steering rack from an EF or EL fit straight in ?? CHEERS !.

Yes they do, but you will need to change the intermediate shaft to the same model as the rack.

Thanks to you both for the question and answer, I have to do the same for our EB2 and was about to put the question when I caught this thread. I was quoted $120 dollars for a rack to-day, I'm hoping Sydney prices are a bit better although the $50 quote for an EL ecu seems reasonable.
