yeah well.. perhaps has happend on track and race cars.. but for a street car i see no problem.. ive had the DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors for a year now with NO sign of failure..

ive seen a few drilled brakes that have been cracked.
RDA are very good, although i have herd from 2 ppl that thier discs have have warped several times. Id still say there worth while looking at. I got discs and pads from them earlier this week and I was amazed how cheap they r aswell

Like others I have seen and heard about the DBA slotted and drilled rotors cracking but apparently they have done something to rectify the problem, not 100% sure on that though so don't quote me on it.
I'll be going the RDA slotted for the fronts very soon.

I've heard that the dimpled and slotted are are better option as the are not drilled all the way through but still disperse more heat and arent as prone to cracking like the cross-drilled ones.

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_wa ... isk.shtml# look at this artical for warping.
also slotted rotors are better for track work than drilled as you do get cracks from drilled rotors under high temps. |

there are alot of ideas for dispersing heat but having more vanes will acomplish this. the thinner the metal the quicker it heats up. the thicker it is the longer it takes to heat but then the longer it takes to cool cos of the mass. this is where the vanes come in. personally i wouldnt buy anything other than slotted if i was doing track days (often) but the drilled and slotted do look good and work great for road driving!

Also on a side note, the sloted and drilled rotors, the idea behind the slots/holes is to beak up the surface area of the rotor to allow the gases created by the pad/rotor to vent. same reason your pads have a slot down the middle.
Personally I think Slotted AND Drilled are a waste, But slotted OR Drilled is good. combination of both is just marketing.

Ill agree with the points on the x drilled and slotted rotors, one or the other both combined is not so good. The best ones are slotted $ for performance wise in my opinion. The RDAs on the falcy make it pull up very nicely indeed.
