Building a 351 windsor with a 302 windsor cam and having probs with ignition timing. The dizzy was pulled out before i got there and noones sure where number 1 is on the dizzy. If a fuel injected 302 has the same firing order as a carbied 302 that would mean that no 1 is at the direct back of the dizzy like my 5.0 in my eb. can anyone confirm this?We are running 302 windsor firing order to suit the cam. :(

The non roller or carb fireing order is different
carb 302's are 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8)

Number 1 is in the same place on either engine. Where it is depends on where you install the dizzy...that's all. You just have to find TDC on #1.
Stick your finger in plug hole 1 and turn the engine over by hand until the compression blows your finger out of the hole. you should be coming up on TDC for cyl 1. Set your dizzy up with the rotor pointing at the #1 post and you'll be close.
