Hi all,
i am looking into buying a cam for my XF N/A setup. i have been looking through old threads for about an hour or so but havnt found exaclty what im looking for. my car has a 250 EFI block with a reco C2 head shaved for 10:1comp with heavy duty springs and collets in it. the ignition system is standard with good leads and plugs, i have a straight gas system and 3.23 gears with an auto. i am looking for something that gives good midrange and can be used in this combination. i am thinking the wade 877,242a wades or the crow 14776, 14892. which do people recommend, what are your experiences and what results might i acheive? will i have clearance issues considering the head is shaved down a fair bit? also are new retainers requried for these sort of cams? and finally what is involved in dialling up a cam for best results, how is this done and can i do it at home? note my car is also an auto and used daily, basically i want a good increase in low down torque and midrange power. a bit of a lumpy idle is good but as long as its dosnt require to feet at the traffic lights and i dont want to destry my fuel economy. an all round performer basically. thoughts and experiences? Cheers |

do you have specs for it mate? its not of their web page.
basically i want good/reliable torque and power increase. ps mine is an auto with a mild stall. these were the two that i was looking at. what do people think about these with stock rreco head shaved for 10:1 with extractors/2.5 exhaust and an intake mod with 3.23s? cam specs are: 242a Ex .284 In .281 71-29 31-70 210 209 Hyd Hyd .491 .486 110 Good idle, low to midrange increase 877 Ex .293 In .293 70-32 31-72 212 212 Hyd Hyd .507 .507 110 Needs springs, good midrange 2000 - 5500 my head has been shaved for 10:1 comp, will i have enough clearance for the valve lift? also what are these wade cams worth? |
