Heyya folks, just a couple of quick questions that i need to know :)
1) Can i buy standard EF/EL headlights at any FORD dealership in Australia (W.A)?
2) Would the EL headlights fit on an EF? The EL ones are glass arent they?
Cheers :)

a) - yes i'd imagine so, but why pay the rip-off prices at fraud?
b) - no, they aren't interchangable

i'm assuming your headlights are yellowed? do a search on how to fix it - there is a method to it! :P

Pretty sure you can fit EL fairmont headlights to an EF as they look the same at least. :D The GLi/Futura ones are rounded off and not pointy towards the middle if you get what I mean..

And yes they will be a rip.. so don't get them from a dealer. :)

As uglybob said it's quite easy to unyellow your lights if that's the problem.. bit of fine sandpaper and cut n polish seems to work like a treat (did for me anyway lol). :D

Hope that helps..

the ef/el fairmont headlights are a differnt to the gli/futura headlights on the ef and the EL.

Basically there are 4 different headlights available for ef.el models
-EF Gli/futura
-EL Gli/futura
-EF/EL xr6/xr8
-EF/EL fairmont failane and GT

none of these are interchangable without changing panels bonnet front bumper etc.

EL Fairmont headlights will only fit an EF Fairmont, not GLi. They are a slightly different shape to suit the Fairmont bonnet.

They may be cheaper but can anyone with aftermarket lights tell us how the quality of construction and light throw is? I've seen some aftermarket headlights with really s**t reflectors in them, resulting in poor light patterns.

Oh okays, thx heaps guys :)
Yeah mine have gone yellow  My old man has tried buffing it, but it only made a slight difference, so i might just go buy new ones. Ill shop around though, seeing as the prices from a dealer are too dear. Once again, cheers :)
