its an e-series problem... all e-series with heavy duty clutches experience that problem.. ive been ther twice in 2 different falcons... cut a thicker round plate to sit around the cable where it passes through the firewall... Ford aint going to do anything about it now... is several generations old now...

The firewall is *just* strong enough for a standard clutch. Making it stronger for minority who fit aftermarket clutches 10-15 years after the car was sold would cost money, so everyone would pay more (even those with an auto). Just one of the things the x and e-series manual driver have to pay attention to.

One of the biggest stresses on the firewall is a worn clutch cable as well. A worn cable will make the pedal MUCH heavier. Second, get a heavy duty clutch that is not heavy. extreme make a clutch that will handle 400+rwkw that is bearly heavier than stock.

MY BRO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, YOU NEED TO GET A PLATE WELDED AROUND THAT AREA AND THAT WILL FIX IT STRAIGHT AWAY, MY BRO HAS HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE.
