Hi, trying to get a faulty borg warner 3.7 diff a*** replaced under warranty for my EF and for the last 2 months ive been told by them there is a shortage in Australia and they dont know when they can get them in.

Is my leg being f**k pulled, or is this really the case?

Any info would be appreciated as i feel i have to take them to court if nothing is done soon.......

unless the crown pinion or planet gears are f**k he should be able to get bearings seals shims or if he dose like a lot of so called specialist these days he get a hole unit (exchange) and just installs them in this case he may be right as some times they do a run of a model diff but ford were not the only one to use the same diff
try another diff specialist ask if he can get you one say your just after the availabilitie of a diff for you model car he should ring a wearhouse and they will tell him if theres one in Sydney or theres two in Melbourne then thank him very much and you think about it

lol he'll probably wait till your warranty is up then say "oh it doesn't matter anymore, warranty is over"

He reckons the whole front has sheared off which is causing it to whine at certain speeds, and no it wont go away and yes the diff is about as "worn" in as its gonna get.

They pulled it apart to check it and i got the car back even fukin noisier. First they told me theyve never had a problem like this before, then later on they describe to me a few others have been like this and the quality from their supplier has been going downhill lately blah blah.

But yeah i will ring around and see if another mob can get them in although im afraid i already know the answer......

mate ive done a couple of 200b diff yes worked for Nissan dealership and there not that hard to do 20 years now but i think i still be able to do it you say whole front has sheared off if they mean pinion shaft then it wounld not drive i think whats happened is the harden surface on the crown and pinion is faulted (worn off ) in witch case they should be able to get replacements parts
push the point say your going to take it further
ask them for a written letter (with a letter head) saying while the diff is bad warranty will be extended till it fix then warranty will restart when new one is installed

3.7s are pretty rare, always been hard to get a hold of.
They aren't talking s**t.
If you went 3.9s or 4.11s you'd have no drama at all.
