Hey all,
Well yesterday i gave my car a wash just a quick once over. Went for a drive to my cousins house gave him some tools and went to leave and my car wouldn't start. It wouldn't even crank over.
I just mounted my amp on the back of the seat.

Well i had to jump start it and that took a bit. So i thought it is just a flat battery. Well got home and it just starts.

Does any one have any idea what it could be?
Did i stuff the battery?
My ignition has been really tight to turn lately and i think someone might have tryed to steal it.

Does anyone know what is going on?

could be your starter motor on its way out or could be your sensor in the auto which makes it not be able to start when you are in gear. mine is going and i have to whack my gearstick to start it. i reckon its a good security device :P

Key barrell might be shagged. Do you have much s**t on your keyring?

If inhibitor switch in auto shagged, the key will still turn but nothing will come of it... if its physically hard to turn the key then id be looking at the barrell itself....

Yeh the key has been really hard to turn lately. I have sprayed it with crc and s**t but is still difficult to turn.
So people have had this problem before. It seems that you have to turn the key to a certain spot for it to start.

Any estimates on price to get fixed?

Yeh i went to jump start it and it was doing the same thing. I then kept flicking the key and it went..

Its a 5 speed by the way.

My car had a similar problem a couple of months ago.Would turn over, no spark.Ended up being the battery when it died a day or two later. How old your batt and why are the Falcon range of batt different ie., 351EB or 350EF.Even the Holdens are getting into the act with things like vt or h on the end of a battery code.

hey guys I've had a similar problem with my EF having difficulty starting up. It turned out to be a lose wire behind the barrel. I think the vibration from the woofers may have something to do with it at the time... :?

Yeh cool thanks guys...
I think it is the barrell as the key is hard to turn. Yeh the car wont even crank which seems like a baterry problem but the baterry is not even a year old.

possibly not the cause of this problem... but given that u have just installed an amp it might be... If the interior light fuse/circuit is faulty the smartlock module/BEM doesnt get all the inputs it requires and the car wont start...
