Just noticed the other night in my new ed fairmont that the heat doesn't work..
i turned it up to max heat(32degrees i think) and on full fan (9) and it just kept coming out cold. The car was fully warmed up. any ideas on how to approach this. What should i check first, and what usually causes this? |

have a look under the hood to see that none of the vacume hoses havent split or the T joiner isnt broken on any of them, also look at the tap to see if its operning when you turn the heat on, also look under the dash to see if any of the lines have split or come loose.

once youve checked all that, replace the blend door motor

Also make sure your thermostat isnt faulty as this can cause cool heater conditions.

Also make sure that the Aircon is OFF, i know a few people that fall for that one (like the guy who used to own my car)

as above - heater tap, vacuum lines and blend door
(dash out basically)

heater tap butterfly could be broken or even the heater core itself could be blocked.
I'd tackle these be the dash comes out.

thanks guy..will check the AC thing as that might've been my problem!
if not then i wont worry about pulling dash out for a fix.. |
