Hi guys just wondering if someone can tell me how long it would take to remove my current motor and replace it with anther motor. The car in question is a 1994 ef falcon the head has a crack, and i think a replacement motor would be cheaper then taking the motor apart and sending the head away to be fixed.I am asking how long because i would only have a weekend to do it as the car is my daily driver thanks.

You could just purchase another head from the wreckers and have it shaved, put a new set of head bolts in, with a decent gasket (does the AU one fit the EF?) and it should only take you half a day at the most.

But if you do a motor it will only take you about the same time with the right equipment and you may have a much better motor after or you may not.

If you need to ask, budget 3 days for the complete swap.

Someone who has done it a few times would be able to get them swapped over in a day
