My EL head unit keeps cutting in and out, when it cuts out it displays TEL as if a phone is connected. No car kit has ever been installed and the problem has only just started to happen after the battery went flat and had to be replaced?? Any ideas on how to fix it??

on the LH side of hte drivers footwell theres a 4 pin plug that has a green wire. Follow that green wire back to the head unit and make sure it isnt damaged anywhere. When this wire has a circuit to ground it will make the radio enter TEL mode.

i had a pioneer head unit and it kept cutting out and displaying MUTE.. turns out the car kit wire (which wasnt connected) was simply earthing out, causing the unit to mute itself
