V8's have firmer springs so if you were to put the V8 springs in a 4.0 you'd notice the ride would be firmer with next to no body roll. But yeah......It would fit straight in.

and vice versa to what revcore said = 6cyl springs in a v8 will lower it a bit more - not by heaps though.

Also, if the rear of the NL still has the air shocks (sls) you will need to replace them with the ones from the EL, and disconnect the SLS fuse/relay to stop the compressor working and getting error msgs...

i got dobinson 50-65 mm lower spring in my el now with brand new shockies all round and the el is a 4.0 litre so it shuld be fine to put the suspension from my el in to the 50 litre nl fairlane

Falcon rears in a lane are soggy, lane rears are 50-100lb heavier.

Shocks will be fine, just springs, get a lane set, for the $100 bucks they are worth, its worth doing.

you will need V8 springs. im in the same boat, i had an EF fairmont with pedders super lows, when i sold it i put the stock items back in. i now have a DL LTD 5 LTR, i was hoping i could use the springs i have but i rang pedders gave them the part numbers and i was told that if i used the springs i have in a V8 it would destroy the car so its not worth the risk

Can usually get away with the front as long as the coils weren't oringinally on its guts low, just remember to get bumpstops for the rear conversion though, they wont have any & most replacement shocks wont come with.
