hi,
just wondering, would it be worth while upgrading my exhaust system to a dual 2 1/2 inch system over what i have now, which i beleive is around 2inch dual. i got quoted 650 for a dual 2.5 inch system, new mufflers and chrome tips all fitted, but not mendrel bent. the guy recons it only matters about getting mendrel bent if ya making big power, but i think either way its definately better with menrel bent.am i right? cheers
Oh year its on a 351 straight gas

mandrel bent will ALWAYS be better period the guy is full of s**t and poo poo

press bends will restrict the gas flow and cause to much backpressure, s*** in power loss

go somewhere else

I was quoted from my local exhaust place, I think most are roughly the same, $750 twin 2½ mandrel bent from the catback, but its for a BA, so yours should be around that sort of figure I'd imagine.

But defo as RedRoo said, look on ebay, some great bargains on there, also for extractors too. Exhaust places normally charge about $1200 for some decent extractors, but you can usually get similiar setups on ebay for $700-800.

a 2 1/2 inch press bend will flow more than a 2 inch mandrel so if yours is a 2 inch press bend then a 2 1/2 press bend would be a good upgrade. mandrel i think is about 5% better flowing and a lot more expensive but if u have the money why not.
