im very interested in the volvo fans, i have 2x aftermarket ones fitted with a custom shroud, and they don't seem to be able to cope with my motor/radiator.
what are their approximate price, and where do you get them from?
thanks.

Ill wander out and take some pics now,

i can organise teh volvo thermo's $70 each or 140 with a kit inc thermo switch
tehy are off teh later volvo's, and had a 6 speed geerbox within the motor assemply, this has been disabled, and locked into High gear, approx 3XOD hence the enormous air-flow. (rough extimate is about 3 times teh Au thermo's, they do draw a lot of current to get started though, so i reccoment thick wiring. at least 50amp, and a 40 amp relay (i run twin relays)

back in a sec

Volvo photo's
iva had both the AU and VOLVO ones in teh XY, and honestly, the au ones didt even come close.

we have them on an EB 5litre (EFJASE)
ED i6 (PAULI)
XY 351 with 3core rad (SKETCH)
ED i6 (wiggas mate)

and a heap more,, havent found a car they havent worked prefectly on.

Image
^^^^look at the size of that mother :P^^^

Image
^^^
They even fit in teh ED i6, so there shouldnt be any trouble fitting em anywhere else. if yoru in perth ill fit em , drive in, drive out for 200.

Image
^^^
The Au ones in teh Xy,, i sold these for $40 cause i hated em. they did look good tho.^^^

Er, I think Volvos are Swedish not German!

Do the Volvos come in twins or just singles?

Is the shroud similar size to the Ford radiator?

What sort of cost are we looking at for the Volvo setup?

bayvu- these fans are made in germany, i know that.

i got one and am in the process of hooking it up, im going to make up some brackets and all so it all bolts/fits up solidly.

I actually hooked one up on a test bench at work and it drew ~40A on start up and then went down to 15A (coulda been 20A...) boss recons a 30A relay will do as thats it continous rating.... but am swaying towards a 40A or more.

the start up current is huge :) and untill the fan is up to speed, it stays around 40 amps,, id be safe and gowith a 40 amp relay, ( i run twin 40's to be safe, cause the wire was heating up, a lot)

i can hook ya up with the thermo for 80, full kit ready to install for 160

cant go wrong for that price.
