i bought mine from SSV for $1140.00 Inc gst, replicas, no tyres including freight. i thought the tickford caps and stickers looked crap so i made my own. they look like the proper el gt ceneter caps (which by the way you can buy from ford for $60 / set of 4, but they are far to big in diameter to fit the replicas).

p.s. your dad's concern about the "crapiness fake factor" is not needed. these wheels look great. will post a pic of my maroon el fairmont ghia with them on,

Isn't it law that car makers have to carry spares for 10 years? So there's are few years to go til the '97 EL GT's loose spares support.

Try Canterbury Tyre Mart in Bayswater. We looked into them, I dont remember how much they were, but couldn't be too much if we almost got them.

ford changed their wheel supplier awhile ago so original or genuine EL GT wheels are no longer available.

I got mine from the place at regents park two years ago for $1550 with used Michelin rubber. The place was called AGR or ACR Wheels I think....

They quality is fine. They are a solid wheel, just dont get them scratched as they show up black under the shadow chrome paint....

And the centre cap Tickford logo fades after a while but you can get them from SSV for $100....
