I got a complete EL dash with dual airbag and climate control. I want to put this into my EF GLi with ABS.

Will this be a matter of straight swap. I hear that the passenger side locking motors are different because of the fact that ELs dont have a key or press lock but this doesnt bother me as i want to put an EL door handle on and i use the jaycar steelmate locks anyway.

This doesnt bother me as i am using after market locks and therefore the only thing that connects the new locking motors to the car is the control unit and the control unit is tapped into the BEM. Bit complicated but it basically goes between the old locks and BEM and this control unit is like 'the middle man'.

The dash will go in, However If you are using the EL Dash Harness, you'll have to change the BEM, Im 99% sure its plug and play.

You'd be better off transplanting the EL Dash, and using your EF Dash loom.

If your car is a Series 2 EF, you'll have the PAB wiring already at the left hand side of the glovebox. Making the dash swap even easier!

In EF 94' 95's you'll have to run a pair of wires from the AirBag module (above and to the right of the steering wheel on the firewall) to the PAB.

All EF/EL trims fit one another.

incorrect, No need to change heaterbox.

You can adapt CC without removing or even loosening the heaterbox, the casing is the same, you simply need to cut the fan speed motor hole larger (pre moulded to cut with a knife) then cut a small steel brace inside, then poke the hole in the top for the blend motor.

i have everything from a EL sitting here. So ill only be using my NF fairlane cluster, my trip computer. Ill be swapping all the climate control gear off the old airbox and putting it into my existing air box. I also have a Fairmont Ghia BEM for the EL loom.

Do the air box fans come out without unbolting the airbox?

Bingo.I had to do alot of resoldering to get an EF high series loom running in my EL.

I did the opposite when putting climate control into my EL Futura.

I had an entire EF Fairmont Ghia loom and BEM

It required some rewiring as the connectors to the body are different. I cut of the plugs on the EF and EL looms, and then matched them up and reconnected the EL plugs (there was 2 IIRC) onto the EF loom.

Have fun (it's a big job)
