Hey. I need to replace the front door speakers in my EL Ghia, and I want to stick with speakers that are of a similar type,
1. to save $$$ (massive audio isn't a priority for me) and
2. to keep the system "balanced" (having 2 speakers that are grossly different to everything else installed will upset the balance)

Doesn't anyone know, or has anyone done, a review of what speakers and other components make up the package (sizes and power ratings)

If so, what are they?

cheers :-)

Hey I've got a spare pair of the premium sound speakers from the rear with the coaxial tweeter. 91DA19A067 CANDH

Should be the same as your rears with the same black connector. Now how much more 'balanced' can you get?
I'll tell you how much - a lot! Put the best sound you can justify into the front. The fader will sort the levels.

You need to set a budget.

Cheers,
C

Well, its not the Rears I need... just the front doors.

If I can at least find out the size before I go buying speakers, and pulling the door skins off, that would be useful!

Budget is < $100

And before I get flamed for spending so little money on speakers, I just want the left and right working! They don't have to be Super/mega/alpine/sony/kenwood awesomeness, and I'm not going in sound offs.
I just want them to work, and currently they don't. Before the Driver's door speaker broke, the system was perfectly ok for me.

Even Stocker replacements would do me! But they'd be more expensive than after markets.

The factory premium speakers in EF/EL perform surprisingly well for what they are.
The front speakers are actually a 2 way "split" system with the woofer located in the doors as you know and a set of tweeters mounted ontop of the dash.

Those drivers were made by Pioneer and are of a better quality than what is being fitted to current Falcons.

Your best option is to go to your local Ford wreckers and grab the speakers out of another EF/EL that had the premium system installed .... probably only cost you $10 :)

My EF Futura had the 2way splits, they all do bar gli's.
for $100, the stock pioneer splits would be far better than what you can buy, esp n ebay.
maybe buy 2nd hand.

The factory coned tweeters are very ordinary, almost any soft dome tweeter would sound better....
