How much hassle is it to fit Climate Control into a GLi if I change the BCM and loom to Fairmont ? The things Im wondering about mostly are the sun sensor and also the sensor for the ambient. Im guessing this is a commom swap?

Its pretty easy, I've done 3 of them, you'll need the motor regulator, Climate Control module, Head Light Switch, Sunload Sensor, Vacuum Pack, Blend door motor, Ambient Sensor, Sniffer Pipe.
Using a Fairmont Dash loom is Ideal and Faster, You'll need the headlight switch and also the Dash Cluster would need a resistor removed. If you car has ABS its pretty much just plug and play in the Engine bay, If not you need to run 2 wires for the Ambient sensor. The whole Dash (crash pad) has to come out and I would expect around 8hrs to complete! You do not have to remove the Heaterbox to install the Blend motor, but you will have to Cut a larger hole for the Motor reg (its already got cast lines in it and you can use a stanley knife for the plastics.) help?

Thanks mate. Whats the go with the headlight switch? Why does that affect the Climate Control. Im thinking of getting a fairmont dash so that woul solve the resistor. Im getting a Fairmont BCM and dash loom. I just need all the other bits. Would the standard climate control still work with the fairmont bcm and loom?Cheers

The head light switch it to do with the Fairmont BEM that will go in with the dash loom.
Once you replace the dash loom so you can have the fairmont climate control you will need to put a fairmont BEM/BCM and this has an interior dimming feature, so you need to have a fairmont head light switch. Its also a good idea to install a fairmont cluster at the same time.

Ok Thanks. Is the fairmont headlight switch visably different( I will get 1 off ebay )Im guessin once the fairmont loom goes in I cant use the GLi aircon/heater switch and will need climate control? Thanks

Fairmont Light switch has a Green connector (where the plug goes in)

try a little bit better and try and get a fairlane loom so you can also put High Series cluster if you want one

Fairlane looms are great but there is still alot of work.
I just modified an old plug and replaced all the pins. When i put the new body loom in i added an extra wire for door sensors. Im running a fairlane cluster on a standard loom. Funny thing is i went to0 do the swap again...and there were two wires the same...and 50/50 change i got the bad end of the deal which means that there is no rear demist light BUT the warning light works for the rear demist....gotta fix that.
