will the factory exhaust manifold on a ba xr6 turbo fit onto an eb 4ltr?

and is a comp ratio of 9.8:1 too high to turbocharge? will i need a de comp plate or is this still a safe ratio to a limit? if so how far would youy go and whats a good solution?

Do a quick SEARCH... and look at the stickies on the top. You will be amazed and what you could learn.

And no the BA manifold wont bolt directly on

the time and effort that would involve to get a ba manifold on would be pointless if you are given or get get a manifold next to nothing get a EA manifold and goto an exhaust place and see if they can make something up...

Yeah read the sticky's about it there is a great how to about turboing the boxcar.... to do it proper get a decomp plate...

What car is it an EA 3.9 chuck a Later model 4L head to lower the compression abit and figure it out on paper then go for it.

nah its a 4ltr thats been race prepped pistons, bored etc coz it was originally gonna be NA tune but then a basic turbo package fell into my lap

so fortuneately it has a fresh n tuff bottom end but a relativly high 9.8:1 comp ratio. so first of all i want too make sure im not gonna do any damage to my fresh bottom end
HAVE been told that snort manifolds are pretty ruff can any1 confirm this or is it s**t? (ruff like dags and messy welds)

I make my own ..
But I won't bag Snort ...
They make good manifolds...
O/k some early ones may have issues...
Tmk they fixed or replaced them, but they where quite cheap...As they say you get what you pay for.... But don't get too sophisticated in some hardware.. It's not a formula one engine!!!

[quote="Froudey"] to do it proper get a decomp plate...

ha ha if u wanted to do it properly you would rebuild the engine with dish top pistons to lower the compression

yeh but im not gonna pull the motor down again froudey.
ACL gaskets, are they a good alternative to decomp plates or are they a decomp plate? no-one has told me yet whether or not i need a decomp plate anyway?

you will need to decompress the cylinders as the compression needs to be lower thats why i suggested the dish top pistons
