G'day
i got my car dynod yesterday and i got a pretty good result i reckon, well for the mods i have done to the car. Just a question as the bar goes up on the graph its very ripplery. Is that normal or is there somthing wrong with the car? cheers You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I'd say the dyno operator doesn't know what he's doing. That's a very poor graph.
An EF/EL relatively stock, will have a rising part, a lil dip (as the broadband manifold switches) then rise again to a peak, then it'll fall off til the rev limiter. It should be smoother than that. Looks like he's feathering the throttle. I take it it's an auto? If so there's a problem of them "kicking down" on dyno's but an experienced operator can get around that. buy starting the run in 3rd at about 80-90km/h and go from there.

The Way to get an auto to not kick down during a run on the dyno is to lie under the dash and there is 2 yellow plugs that work the auto. Disconnect em and it will Lock the auto into third (limp mode). The car will still have its full power though. I assume it works for all BTR equipped cars, maybe AU and possibly BA. The Map looks very sporadic indeed, but a good result nevertheless.

i think it was done in second and not third gear, started at first gear and changed to secong at about 80km/h.
i doubt he he his foot to the floor the whole time, thats way to jumpy

That car is not strapped down for starters.Tyres arent making contact with the rollers uniformly. The tractive effort N is like that of a turbo car.If done .If it is done in second gear then the multiplication of the lower gear may have something to do with it.

yeah it kicked down on him first run and the car nearly slid off the dyno, i told him to turn off the shiftkit but he said it didn't matter. Then he sprayed some stuff onto the tires and its was all good after that.
Also it was done in 2nd gear

LOL !!! Why did you have the shiftkit turned on anyway ?
And yeah also he's supposed to run it in 3rd gear for the auto, but alot of operators dont for some reason just like mine was run in 2nd gear when it was auto and pumped out a massive 110 kw Converted to manual and run it in 1:1 ratio like it should be and ran 138 kw |

does it matter what gear its run in? It should make the same power all way round yeah?

Yeah it does matter which gear is used. Especially on the autos.
They should always use the 1:1 ratio (or as close as possible) as this negates any torque multiplication too. A run in 2nd on the auto will produce a smaller result than in 3rd.

yeah with my manual there was only 6hp difference between 2nd, 3rd & 4th.... not sure how much difference would be with an auto tho? |

So i could of got more if it was run in 3rd gear? Probly would of got more anyways if it wasn't 26c

. With my manual it made slightly more power in 3rd instead of 4th (1:1) but that could of been dyno inconsistancies i guess... |
