Generally a larger cooler is that is needed.

Why not just use the accessories positive wire?
But it really would be unnecesary to add a fan to the external auto cooler. Ford are happy enough to warranty a vehicle using the inbuilt radiator cooler, the fact that you are in addition using an external auto cooler means you've already got much better cooling for the auto fluid. |

as tweddle dee said
find a ign on source near the cooler and use that the fan will be on constantly though best way to find a fan is to take your cooler to a wrecker and see if they have one to fit the size usually a small FWD car fan is the correct size OR u can by aftermarket trans coolers with a fan on there!

Are you sure you should be doing this? If you can actually tell how long physically you will need the wire, you have my doubting your capabilities... Perhaps even look at motorbike radiator fans - not very common - most water cooled bikes I've seen don't have them, but there's a few that do, these might be the right size. |

Have a guess how much wire you'll need then get an extra couple of meters to be on the safe side..

Pin out diagram for the auto tranny cooler fan your not going to find here - as it depends what fan your using (these models don't come fitted with a fan on the external auto tranny cooler). You probably find there's 2 or 3 wires - really can't be hard to tell what the 2 wires are... Get 5m of wire, then you'll have enough length so that you can go around things and do it neatly. Besides wires not expensive and it's handy having some spare. Do you know what size gauge wire to use? Are you going to fuse it? Put a switch in for it? |
