From memory you have to pull the bracket thingy out of the rubber hangers. Either that, or just cut it off and buy new hangers. They're cheap as anyway, and no doubt your old hangers would be stuffed too.

you can get them off but its a s*** of a job! um i did it by pushing the exhaust up (towards floor pan) and pushed the rubber over the hanger out sorta like how u take a coat hanger off the hanger itself but it has a little lip on the top. sorry i cant really explain but all i can tell u is it will piss u off and u will hit your head of the diff atleast once

man i struggled for ages trying to slip it over the head of the rod, had a can of WD40 next to me and thought, bah f**k it. Gave it a spray and wiggled it a abit and tried again and it just popped over the stud.
i recommend WD40 and then just try wash it off the rubber when finished. |

definately recomend some sort of lube for thi job, especially if your rubber mounts have firmed up a bit.
Pretty much the same issue on most cars, though sometimes on of the metal brackets has a smaller lip than the other, so try get that one off first. Also the brackets on some cars (cant remember if falcons) are bolted not welded to the chassis, so good idea to unbolt if possible then remove rather than do it under the car if possible. If not, then you will need to lubricate it. Just make sure you wash it off - dish washing liquid is good cos it gets through grease. Unless of course you have some waterbased lube for other purposes |
