Disconnect the battery for a half an hour or more but before you do make sure you have access to the radio code if it still has the original HU.
The filler plug is on the side of the diff near the passenger side ABS tone wheel.

hi im having same problem with my ef i changed plugs,leads,coilpack airfilter an havin same prob so im wit u on this im lost i was told mite b the cat

hi mate i never thought of that (blocked cat )....at least im not alone man it is so frustrating aye ... i havent changed my coil pack though you got any more ideas

A coil pack issue can cause some wierd faults but it would be hard to cause a missfire just after 10 seconds of idle. I would for now not replace it on a try it and see hunch but do an ECU diagnostic for a sensor issue somewhere or maybe even check for a vacuum leak.

ok then i will leave it alone and take it in to ford and see what they say ...mite be cheaper than all the trial and error aye .....damn annoying though
