what is your affinity for 3 inchers It has been stated by atleast 15 different members that it is better to get a 2.5in exhaust. I'm sure atleast one of them knows they're s**t and with regards to jmm's kit...3in would possibly (i emphasise possibly) increase peak power IF the engine was restricted by the 2.5in (which i doubt unless over 200wkws and at very high revs)...however you lose power down low

so after all this debating...a set of pacies 4499's plus high flow + 2.5 incyhpipe plus rear hotdog would be getting some good power?

For the BA's there are only 4495's and 4490's that fit.
4490's are the low down torque headers while the 95's are the high rpm power headers. I have the 4495's ceramic coated and I am highly impressed with them, saying that they aren't a cheap bit of kit. They will net me a higher maximum power then the 4490's and a good gain in low down torque but not as much low down torque as the 4490's. Get a highflow cat for sure, try get a metal cat as ceramics are rubbish. I went with the 2.5" Magnaflow metal. An external transmission cooler is recommended to bypass the standard on any falcon before the 2005 model as it is too often seen for the radiator and trans cooler to corrode and mix the fluid resulting in the need for a rebuilt trans, and full engine coolant flush. I went with the PWR largest cooler, cost me about $99 for the cooler and $370 fitted all up, running new hoses, topped up fluid, the lot. Visit http://bseries.com.au the people are very good there, and I have learnt a great deal in regards to b series there. |

i'll back that point up, many bseries have had transmission overheating problems especially when towing, a very sound investment.

if im being a d**k then im sure one of the moderators will let me no. and if thats the case i would be more then happy to pm everyone who posted in this thread a apology. at the end of the day its each to his own, what more can i say Don't worry mate, we've been all there. no need to apologise for anything at all. some times forum can be a good release! don't forget its just a username ok dude ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- back on topic.... a trans cooler is a must if carrying or towing!!! I carry heaps of s**t on my ute so the specialist recommended me wilcat 21x headers for the job, with a decent freeflow zorts. thats when I had the AU!

cheers

The stock cams are good and controlled very nicely by the ECU, anything else effecting the engine itself can be done by the flash tuner. Engine can also withstand a beating in N/A form so internals can stay put. Otherwise, we can do the zorst, intake, underdrives, larger throttle bodies, and anything else engine wise including opening the engine would be bugger all gain for money spent. Your N/A motor will be at its limit. However if your like jmm and have marketing money to blow, you can go ahead and port the heads and increase the compression to wipe 0.1 off your et. see now this is whay the AU is much better than the BA. you can put a longer list of mods in your sig.

cries... hurtfull people. I reckon the 4490's sound pretty sweet in combo with a 2.5inch, personally I find torque more fun the HP. Tall gears require torque IMHO. as early as possible. nothing like pulling off in second from ~50 kmh and feel it pull hard to 120 in one gear. specially while the commo or buzz box next to you lurchs twice.
