Gday all,
I have a AUII XR8 220. My problem at the moment as it is hard to start after taking it on a long drive. (ie.100Km trip down highway). When I go to restart the car it takes forever sometimes to kick over. Fords solution was to keep my finger on the ignition till it kicks. Also when you pull up at the lights or any stop the engine will groan up and down like at idle burevs high then low then high then low. Not revving heaps but enough to alter the car on take off. It does it for about 30 seconds going wha weha wha then idles like normal. I have heard that the original fuel pump was usless and could be exchangedby warranty if you could prove the problem with the dealer in the car. I take this car to G & D performance and they said maybe a leaking or dirty injector or fuel pump. I am trying to narrow it down as I dont want to just spend money willy nilly on fixing things when it can be spent enhacing ( Use that term with wifey instead of performance) the toy. Any help, advice would be appreciated . Also if anybody experieced anything similar let us know and what your fixes were.

CAn someone also show me where the idle speed controller is on an AUII XR8 220. A diagram or a link to a pic of what I am looking for would also be helpful. Have been told to clean this bad boy withbreakcleaner any one heard ,know or can point me in the right direction. Then for cleaning do I scrub, soak, wipe etc the idle speed controller. This is supposed to fixed the problem 9 out of 10. Any feedback appreciated
