Ok so I got a new LPG system fitted yesterday.

Tonight I was out with my mates and we had 2 cars.

I was driving my mates car and he was driving mine.

Now here's the deal.

We stopped for around 10 minutes with the cars off and when we were off again my mate noticed a putt putt noise from my exhaust and starting revving the car up slightly to see if anything else happened. The sound stopped after say one minute.

So he went to take off and after the car traveled say 10 meters we heard a huge pop noise like basically backfiring and the car just cut out.

Scared the hell out off me and the airbox was fine same as the air filter, I think it came from the exhaust. Plugs are 6000k's old, leads are good according to G & D.

Now what could be the cause of this???

System is an Impco clone setup (Elko) and the car was at normal operating temperature.

It sounded so unhealthy and do not want it to happen again so does anybody have a clue on what happened?

The leads may be ok, but you need gas compatable leads and plugs for a start.
Then take it back to the fitter for a checkup.
You may also want to check how tight the intake to head bolts are.

Also make sure that they change the PCV valve for a steel one. Do that ASAP. The plastic ones will drop the check ball into the engine with a half decent back fire then BANG. There goes your chain, timing cover, guides and $500. DO IT NOW!
