hey guys,
the viscous hub in the clutch fan in my EA has been worn out for ages, is there any way of making the hub tighter without taking the fan off? im only asking because there have been a few 30+ degree days here recently, and i only have to drive for about 15 min and the temp is a fair way over half. (cooling system has its problems too, but thats getting sorted) cheers .

clean coolant is number 1 priority with e series 4 litres. specially early ones.
the problems created in these heads are the restrictions in flow introduced at the head gasket causing huge pressure differences over time. the heads were cast before thermal dynamics were fine tuned which resulted in the restricted orrifices in the head gaskets, which is more of an improvement than anything, untill it starts gettin sludgy in there makes the oriface get smaller quite quickly. bottom line is, keep coolant fresh, change at least once a year. no worries. as a quick fix: lock it up. can't work any more efficiently than that.

unlesss your a penis you wouldn't be driving your daily driver falcon up to 5500 unless it had some serious power issues. quick fix doesn't equal reliable fix it equals get you out of the shyte fix. bush mechanics.
fans better locked up than full slippage.
