Why wouldn't it be legal? JMM system is very quite not much louder than stock system

Just a thought, im sure reputable companies wouldnt spend so much time and money on r&d to develop something that wasnt legal. It makes sense that they'd cover all angles before putting their products on the retail market. We hope????

But if they are called race extractors you would think, they would race the car

In some cases you hope wrong.
Cat converters have to be as close to the engine as possible to keep the temperature of them up. The further away, the less effective they are, no ifs, no buts. |

Yeah that does make sense. Thats what the exhaust wrap could come in handy for, if you could be bothered.

i thought if it was too close it can burn out the honey comb and damage them?

I did say as close as possible, which in the e/a/b series is right next to the tranny, not where the first muffler should go. Ever wondered why Ford run the e and a series engines so rich at the high end. One of the main reasons is to keep the cat cool. More fuel = cooler cat. Whereas the BA's have a timed enrichment. They run lean on the top end for X second before the computer starts adding fuel to keep the cat cool. BF's have a temp sensor in the cat so it can monitor the temp and enrichen and lean as required. This is where Ford finally caught up. I believe Commo's have had this arrangement for a number of years. So technically you couldn't kill a cat in one of these cars unless you made it run lean and heated it badly. Considering they are as far forward as Ford can put them. Good extractor manufacturing companies will design their extractors to keep the cat in the same spot, negating the worry of changing the emissions level. |

I had the JMM street fighter extractors for about 18months, my opinion was there not that great, my engine stop pushing at about 4200-4400 rpm,
running RPD extractors now and it made a big difference. |

Paci comps - no probs. Sounds like a beast now, screams high pitch at top end with a redback bolted up to em.
