Hi guys
I have a XW Fairmont with a mild 302 windsor. I am currently running a standard 4 barrel cast iron manifold with a vac sec 600 holley. Was looking at up grading the manifold. Was wondering if anybody could recomend one. Will an edelbrock performer rpm fit under the bonnet. Can anybody recomend a manifold. Thanks |

I have found the single plane manifolds better. Edelbrock, Redline, Weiand are all OK. Just make sure when you go to fit it, that it lines up good, or it will leak oil, or vacuum. If the heads have been machined before, the manifold may need to be machined to suit.

I would have thought a dual plane would work better with good bottom end, single plane are better for more top end on a worked motor

I have found the single planes to be better all round, both in bottom end and top end compaired to a dual plane. This is my personal expierience.

Thanks for your help guys. still unsure on what manifold to buy. I was told a dual plane would give me better torque down low. But never really played around with manifolds and this is a learning expirence.
What brand and model is a good single plane manifold. Thanks |
