I've got a Hyundai X2 Excel that makes the CV shaft clicking (starting to turn more into a crunching now) when I turn right, but turning left is fine. Does this mean that the left or the right CV shaft needs to be replaced?

Yeah, the right one. Its easier to get an exchange CV shaft assembly.

Yeah, I can get the shafts cheap enough from work, I just don't want to replace both if I don't have to - it's only a s**t box.

For an old s**t it's actually not too bad, it's the X2 model which has the Mitsubishi engine in it.

So I replaced the right hand side one, and the noise is still there as bad when I turned right. Does this mean the left ones buggered or that it's someting elsE?

Couldn't you tell which one was clicking? I'm fairly certain that clicking depending on which side you turn isn't indicative of which joint is worn. I think you may have replaced the wrong one. Before you go and replace the other one through, I'd make sure that it is in fact the joint itself that is clicking. Have someone drive the car around you in a tight circle, and see if you can't pick it.

It did sound like it was coming from the right side.
I put a full new shaft in so that has a new inner and outer CV joint.
