The other night I went for a spin. Pulled up at a set of lights next to a blue XH XR8 ute. Good nick, polished big wheels, hard lid, sounded pretty good. But then I saw the wing, an XY GT boot spoiler.

YUK. Looked very lame. It was matt black like they were on XYs. Talk about looking out of place.

Oh and before you ask, we didn't race. We weren't at the front of the lights.

Wings on any ute look horrible... i am yet to see a ute where the wing suites it..... even the new pursuit utes and XR8s on so on look so much worse with a wing.....

personally i like the look of the BA utes with a hard cover and a small spoiler on them, but then again i see them almost everyday so i think it kind of grows on you.

In bunbury, theres a blue panelvan with a xy gt spoiler on it. Looks disgraceful and sticks out the side by 20 cm or more. Like a wing :?

yeah I agree to a certain degree, some wings on utes look just plain wrong. But there are ones out there that I think do look alright. Rear wings off a EB or ED I think look alright, even the the ones off the new GLis arent that bad either.
To some they may look out of place, but I wonder if they actually contribute to the utes rear down force. Everyone whos got a decent ute I think would say the same as me as say the rear end is really light and loose (especially in the wet).
Anyone out there put a rear wing on their ute and noticed anything different? Curious...

Maybe i should, but id want to buy second hand. But unfortunately, all the people i know who have these rims are too stingy to lower their price! Maybe you know someone willing to sell them to me? :D cheap cheap of course. Help a fellow fordmodder out?
