Hi again all,

quick question....car is a AU3 XR6 2002

fired up the car the other day for a big drive. Went from Brissy to Tintinbar (west of Byron) then north to Maleny (sunshine coast hinterland) all up about a 600km drive.

After getting to Maleny a quick inspection showed the radiator water thing on the side was almost down to the min level - which was a worry. It was a hard drive average 110km/h all the way plus driving up and around the Blackall Ranges - would this be normal?

So anyway topped it up to max when it was cold the next day...now ever since then - about 1 week) it's been spurting water out of the overflow tube and onto the sides of the engine bay - not a lot but enough and im noticing the water level going down again.

Last night while it was hot i opened up the bonnet with the engine running and the water in that tank seemed to be 'bubbling' on the side where the hose leads to the radiator. This really got me worried.

Any thoughts guys? Temp gauge does not move past the O in normal.

Also standing outside the car with the engine running near the drivers seat it feels like a heatwave with the hot air off the engine is this normal, i mean do they all run this hot?

Cheers and Thank You

They do run hot, Try a new Radiator cap.

Also check for any fractures around the lower pipe on the recovery bottle.
