Where is the transmission dipstick in a el falcon? Is there one? and why is it so hard to find?

need tog et the car up on a hoise/stands and undo a bolt to check the oil level

they have a level plug on the side of the box, like a manual.

Jack up the entire front end of the car to get a resonable acurate level, if you are changing the fluids, change the filter as well. you will find the inspecions/fluid holes on the divers side of the box about ½ way down the side of the box.best way to remove the filler plugs it with a 14?mm (IIRC) allen key and an extension bar as you will find there may be a bit of thread lock on there and it will be firmly seated into place.

I don't know what that bloke is talking about cos the fill plug size is 16mm (5/8"). Check when cold. I know cos i've done about a thousand tranny services on them.
