OK so the cold to warm weather has killed my old battery..
I don't want an el-cheap-o battery, but nothing to costly, I have been looking at the ultima range, so something around the $130 mark.. thoughts, suggestions? what to stay away from. Cheers

I would recommend a Deep Cycle battery of some description like an Optima, Exide Orbital etc.
I know you've said you don't want anything too expensive but for the reserve power these things have got I would have a serious look at them. At the start of winter my battery died and I lashed out and bought an Optima .... damn .... what a difference it made. The engine had never cranked over so fast before and finally I could run my car stereo for hours on end and still be able to start the car

Exide Orbital it is.. not wrong about the thing cranking over hard and fast. I can actually leave my stereo on for more than 5 mons without the battery going dead too!! what a bonus.. old battery as 7 years old!! should I apply to guiness records for long life?

I lashed out an bought an Optima Yellow Top fopr the work ute ... dedicated LPG.
The thing cranks like you wouldn't believe .... had an issue ages ago with a stuffed solenoid in the converter which keep flooding the engine on start up ... after about 20-30 minutes of repeated cranking I maanged to start the ute .... the battery didn't slow down either. PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS D34 Voltage 12 Cold Cranking Amps at 0°F - 750 Marine Cranking Amps, 32°F - 870 Reserve Capacity - minutes** - 120 Capacity (c/20 rate) - Amp Hours** - 55
